| Clarification | During the 30 days prior to the March 19th election we dutifully prepared our A-1 notification of contribution forms and submitted them electronically within the timing guidelines. The public has the right to know where a candidates funding comes from so that information can be weighed in the decision at the ballot box. However we neglected to file an A-1 that was due the day after the election. We missed it because we had the purpose and spirit of the rule in mind not the letter; information submitted after the polls close does not contribute to the careful decision of whom to vote for. We found out several days later that the letter of the law requires an A-1 after election day. We regret our error and ask the boards indulgence to forgive the fine. |
