| Clarification | The Waukegan Voter Alliance (WVA) over contributed to the Committee-Citizens for Annette Darden. The remedy for this was for Citizens for Annette Darden to repay or return the donations to Waukegan Voter Alliance. This was done on recommendation from Illinois State Board of Elections. The error occurred when Waukegan Voter Alliance recorded these returns as contributions instead of correctly noting that these were return payments. This triggered the violation. The WVA in consultation with the ISBE has amended the quarterly report to correct this issue. And this statement is to help clarify what happened. If any further information or explanation is required WVA will be happy to cooperate. After consulting with ISBE this amendment was recommended as an appropriate remedy. |
